'01 S8: remind me, do the xenons auto-level-adjust? I don't see them do that

'01 S8: remind me, do the xenons auto-level-adjust? I don't see them do that

at start-up. Just staying level all the way.

My CPO expires in 2wks and I'm looking for a laundry list of little items to take care of.

Yes they do...at least my 00 A8 does.

So, each time you turn on the engine, do you see the little up & down

adjustment movement? At least that's how it is on my Saab. I can't recall if the S8 ever did it, or simply self-levels the beam/lenses in a different manner.

Mind doesn't do it at start up...I do notice it adjusting for example when

I drive over a speed bump slowly. But I know what you are talking about as I've seen other makes do the up/down thing on start up.

My '02 self adjusts. Easy to see when parked in my driveway...

...since it slopes up to the garage. When the car is pointed uphill, the lights clearly swing up a bit as soon as I turn them on. When the car is level, it's harder to see the adjustment taking place. If you're not sure the self adjustment is working, you might try parking on a hill behind something that reflects light.

I understood self adjustment (not manual adjustment) was a requirement for OEM's to offer xenons in USA. But, I've been wrong before...

My car is parked inside all the time and I can see the self adjustment each time I'm starting it with the lights on, basically the beam moves up right away
