I love the black with the alumimum accents, but it is a bear to keep up. I figured the Blue would be similar since it's dark as well and I really didn't care for the interior color on the Silver, so really the only choice for me. Many more color options, both interior and exterior on the '01 - '02 S8's. I much preferred the wood dash on the '03 and the simple options packages made it easier for me to shop. Plus another year of warranty isn't a bad idea with these beasts IMO.

situation. I LOVE Audis and that could be a problem ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
One thing that I really don't want to let go is Quattro...and that limits my choices. BWM doesn't help, because they only have new X3 with all wheel drive. MB recently reintroduced 4matic, but I'm not a big fan of MB. Volvo, yeah it is out there, but it doesn't seem to have a "spirit".
There're some Japanese models and although I admire their quality after Audi I can't seem to switch. Well, that seems to leave me where I started with Audi. With a kid on a way and my wife driving a car that long had to be replaced I need another car. My A4 3.0 is a little small and my wife can't drive it, because it is stick.
So what a guy to do? Sorry for a long rant...

I drove it back 2700 miles and had time to find a few things like: the vent fan motor squeaked just a bit, rear defrost wasn't working, tire pressure monitoring sensor was on the blink, ..nothing too serious while under warranty anyway. It maybe me, but I still cannot wait to hop in and drive every day. Keep checking the garage, my wife just says "yes, it's still there." ;-) I'm sure that's the case for many A8(L) and S8 drivers though.
Meant to mention that there was a change in standard wheels in '03. I believe the standard wheels were the same in '02-'03 (one of the only ways I can tell the difference in years), again personal preference which you might like better.

I saw the prototype pics and the sheetmetal looks great IMO. It will be showing at the auto show in New York. I have had a number of RLs in the past. While they were somewhat boring, they were also bulletproof.

The short wheel base D3 is already in the dealers' computers, including options and color choices as a 2005 model with initial shipments arriving as early as the end of July

systems. Isn't it? I seem to remember that Quattro is the best, but how do others doing in comparison. Or am I mistaken?
