What are other doing to boost the output and sound from the factory radio and Bose speakers in the '03 A8L? Besides turning the volume up?

The radio in the A8L can't hold a candle to the factory radio in my friends '01 BMW 740IL. Is there a must have system for the A8L that Audi should have created, but only available via aftermarket?

Word of warning don't mess with the radio. If you do, get someone who is very knowledgable in audis. Many of the cars controls such as the cruise control, speed sensors, security codes all are partially if not fully integrated and or controled from the radio as I have found out the hard way. However, Marty who has an A8L really upgraded his system you may want to talk with him.

Thanks for the feedback on the changes to the Radio. I'll definitely make sure those questions are answered before anyone touches the car.

I saw the pics on Marty's upgrade project from the link on your web site. Very impressive set-up.

I don't think I want to install a theater, but would like to enhance the sound. I'm going to live with it for awhile, before making any changes, but wanted to know if others have dealt with this issue and how they solved it.

I've been driving around for several days with my radio removed for repairs. All they did was pull it out of the car - didn't even drive the car into the shop. It doesn't seem to have affected any other equipment in the car. Mine's a 98.
