It is always fun to buy a car in the first year of its production run. ;-(

I am getting a warning readout for "Headlight Range Control" reading as "Defective". I must admit there is a pretty sophisticated level of monitoring detail in this car.

Even though it will require a trip to the service department, I am impressed.

I got the "tire pressure low warning light" last week. This being my third Audi...that one through me for a loop and had me scrambling for the owners manual...how about the manual being added to the MMI system, instead of the book taking up in the dash as a software upgrade?

Good idea but you would want a hard copy to - something to read in bed! LOL Also, what if the battery is dead? No MMI.

If this has anything to do with the headlight leveling system, more than a few of these went caflooey on the launch cars. When did you take delivery doc?

I took delivery 2 weeks ago, and my serial number is in the 5000-6000 range, so I doubt that this is a "launch" car. I'll find out more after my trip to the dealer on Friday.

There is a TSB on the level sensors for the new A8's. I think I have done about 6 sets.

Driving the car last night was fun (before repair). I had about 10 feet of headlight illumination with a very sharp cut-off. Occasionally it seemed as though the headlights would try to "find" the right level, which must have been real fun for the driver directly in front of me. The warning tone (quite loud) became an annoyance since it would chime about every ten minutes.
