Re: '04 A8L- Windhield Wipers Possessed !!!
Doc, Ive been in touch with Ross-Tech and just found out that they are about 5 minutes away from me. They would like to use my car as a (whats a nice name for Guinea Pig!?). Paul seems to think that we could resolve most of our 04 problems by hooking mine up to a laptop and employing their software(I think thats what they do). Hang in there and maybe we can resolve this next week! Good luck!

That would be Scary in Seattle
Ouch ! Doc, good luck let us know what the resolution is. Greenie, my wipers (now getting a daily workout) also stop when I stop moving, if they are set on intermittent.. I think of that as a feature, not a bug.

I'm not sure whether you'll be able to SOLVE those problems,
but hopefully we'll be able to identify the source of such problems.
FWIW, the A8 has a control module (computer) dedicated to running the wipers.

Update- Cause of death- Wiper linkage bolt fell off.
I'll be picking up my car tonight. The Service manager told me that the wiper linkage bolt fell off, causing the linkage to eventually slip from the wiper motor. The reason the wiper motor continued to run after I shut off the car was that the wiper motor was "seraching" for the park position and couldn't find it because the linkage had become detached after the bolt fell off.
I guess that we should all check our wiper linkages from time to time as a matter of preventative maintenance.
