I just talked to my dealer (Napleton's-Rockford, IL) and they said that an MMI upgrade is in the works and did not expect availability for satellite XM or Sirius until May of 2004. Is this correct? I had heard through this forum that it is availabile now or at latest December 2003. Just wondering what the straight story is.

the XM/Sirius modules can be ordered but you won't get them b/c Audi thought it would be funny to delay the whole thing until mid '04 due to MMI compatibility/upgrades.

Well, this smells really bad. If the Sat Radio is not integrated into the MMI until next May... that's very close to when the '05 models start coming. Perhaps Audi is leaving the '04 behind and coming up with a new MMI platform in '05?
Also, what in the world delays something that was supposed to be ready in December (in a few weeks)... for more than SIX MONTHS?

in the B6 S4 I picked up last week by having the Infotainment package on the car (which includes the Bose Synphony w/ casstte, in dash CD, AM/FM, OnStar and Sirius free for 90 days) and we cannot get Sat. radio or the PhatNoise on the flagship A8L. When I took the D3 in for the 5K service @4450 miles last week...I asked the service dept. for the latest MMI updates and they showed that my MMI was one revision level ahead of most cars...since the stealer updated the system after I had my "haunting experience".
