142 mph in speedo and still climbing before I let off due to exit. Planted and solid as a rock.

The needle was between the 140 and the 145 line. Given speedo error I say probably about 135 or so. The car was still climbing and I was on an upgrade on the Ohio turnpike from 77 to the route 8 exit.
The most astonishing part is that the car behaved as if it was on rails, changing lanes even.
Someday I will have to top out.

I have been well north of 150 in a 427 Corvette and it was a bouncy, squeaky piece of fiberglass very far away from rocksolid. It may have been the tires. Not smart as this was at night in a deer filled area in rural PA. Car was faster than the lights, for sure.

Thing is, Audi seems to implement the speed limiter in a liberal way. I found mine to be at 270 km/h (168 mph) on the speedometer, my portable GPS said 259 km/h (161 mph).

Funny thing, I expected the shuddering and such that comes from high speed runs in other cars. None. I did find the wind noise to be pretty strong until turning up the radio. . .
Daytime Columbus/Valporaso run - straight road outside of Lima I think - no one in front or back for 5 miles - too tempting.
