Default Sounds like clutch A housing. I drove mine with a cracked clutch for a month.

OK, thanks, but mine will drive all day, highway speed, whatever, in top gear, obviously slow take off (no matter which actual forward gear is selected) just like a one speed with a torque convertor. The only sound is when it goes into Limp mode after you press the gas a bit, when just beginning to move forward. It catches just a bit, like it's going to work, before going into Limp. Reverse works totally like normal. I guess it's just time to pull it out and open it up.

Default yes it is time.. Mine worked in rev also, I was able to start ot drive a few feet

and then Clunk and eng rev. You could of drop one of the other parts. But I would not drive it and I would pull it apart if I was you. More things broke and were scored other then just that one clutch A housing. so to save on cost pull now and repair.

Default Re: sounds like grounds for divorce!

Haha...well I have to admit, I did hear the TC clunk/drop out described, one time, a few months back (when I was driving) and didn't check it out (I've never owned an automatic Audi before this one, and didn't know about these issues), so I have to blame myself. Thanks to all, for all the info. & response.
I will post the problem/resolution, once I have time to get to it.

Default are you going to do the rebuild yourself? IF so wow I am impressed

I have seen a few other do it but easier to just bring it to a tranny place to do it. 2500-3500
