Default 2000 A8 where'd my cruise go?

Just had ccv valve replaced (twice, first one had a harmonic problem that made a sound like a saxaphone) and now my cruise control doesn't work. Any thoughts?

If the linkage is not broken (little nylon affair too) and the vacuum canister is aligned straight to the throttle body linkage (sos it doesn't have to actuate in a bind) and you have proper vacuum, it should work.

On the 40V engine (2000 and up), which has fly-by-wire throttle, there is no linkage or vacuum components in the cruise control system...just the column switch, the brake switch, related wiring and the ECM.

Other than a VagCom scan (ECM functions related to cruise), only physical inspection (& cleaning) of those switches and related wiring is all you can do.

The ccv (charcoal canister purge valve) is not really related...unless they disturbed some wiring while servicing it.

I think he meant PCV (positive crankcase vent) valve.

Probably so...but in any event, not a component of the cruise control

BUT, possibly a sloppy mechanic (imagine that) doing something to disable the cruise (?)
