2000 trans check
Lots of messages about the transmissions
(I'm adding to the list
- I am looking at, and probably buying an A8 out of state and driving home about 1,500 miles. Mileage is
approx 50k and it's been in for 5 dealer services. There is no record of the trans fluid
being changed, but I'll do it right away.
Would you change it before making a 1,500 mile trip ? Am I ok (my impression is that the 2000's are pretty solid) buying a car with 50k and no
fluid change yet ? I will go through the checklist when I pick it up...

It will do just fine, that is unless you are trying to get the seller to pay for it before you leave or you've noticed something real funky on your test drive.

Starting Friday I'm going to do 6000 miles in 10 days and am not worried..... do
do an oil change and any other things that have to be done. These cars are designed to go long distances, use the car don't be afraid of it. Change the trans. fluid when you get a chance, but don't fret all will be well.
