I just did mine for the first time last week. To remove the drain plug from the oil pan, you will need a 10mm allen wrench.
The 10mm allen will then be needed to remove the drain plug from the oil filter housing.
A 36mm socket is needed to remove the oil filter housing. I did not use a torque wrench to reinstall, but it is highly recommended.
The car uses 8 quarts of oil ( Synthetic 0w-30 recommended ).
Make sure you have a very large capacity oil pan as it does come out fast ( 12 quart capacity ).
Have fun.

About the oil capacity - I don't think its 8 quarts. I put in 7.5 quarts and when hot it was above the max mark. Audi is very adamant not to go over the max marking.
BTW - the proper way of checking the oil level is when hot, after about 10 minutes after you turn off the engine.
And one more hint: Pre-fill the oil filter container after you put the oilfilter cartrige in, with as much oil as possible. It's probably a little messy to install, but it keeps the engine from running without oil pressurefor for the first minute.
