Default Thanks for sharing - curious to your source. I and others had heard...

...300/300/300 for each of the 3 years (with no idea on source OR credibility), then Paul Waterloo made reference to hearing 4xx something for at least '01 (if not '02 as well).

I'm a fan of knowing import stats, confirming this would be very cool.

Any insight on the other 2 years' data?

Thanks again.

Default If I had go guess I would say about 400 or so

So that would be:

01: 531
02: 400
03: 300

Total: 1231

That makes sense....I would say it's probably 1200-1400 total cars....but we know there are a lot more 01's out there than 02's.

Default AoA cannot answer this question either, because I asked it years ago. They only track...

total D2 numbers and maybe the L version. Very strange...

Default Thanks Jim / Paul. Paul, any idea on source on that? 400 huh? 1,231 total, with...

...800 of them black 8-).

Fear not! 200 of them silver heh heh.

Seems then the remaining 231 make up the rest of the palete...

...or so it would *seem* at least... 8-)

I contacted Audi USA for the info. I was curious after purchasing one. I have no info on the other years (2002-2003) but I am sure an e-mail to them and they could tell you.

Default I read that Audi's goal was to sell a total of 1500 S (D2s) cars in the 3 year period..

How many made it over is another subject.

I read this years ago so I don't remember the source.

There was probably no interest and therefore not all 1500 as originally targeted were sold in the U.S.

I asked Audi USA and that is the number they e-mailed me for the 2001 S8. No, I have no other info on 2002-2003, but I am sure an e-mail to them would get you that info. I was curious so I went straight to the source...
