Hello,

How big of a ride difference is there between an A8L & S8? I know the suspension is tighter & more sporty in the S8, but I have only driven A8L's and love the smooth ride they have. Is the S8 not as smooth over bumps, or have a rougher ride compared to the A8L?

There is not a big price difference anymore so I would step it up and get the S8 so you don't regret your purchase.

I know the S8 is a better preformance car, just not sure on how much ride comfort I'm going to lose (road noise, harder over bumps). Roads around me suck, potholes from all the salt in the winter.

The S8 has a way firmer ride and 4 1/2" less legroom for the rear passengers. The good news is it has 50HP more and the gearing makes it even quicker. I hope this helps.

If you enjoy the ride of the A8L, you probably would not enjoy the ride of the S8.

If you like firm, stable anchored-to-the-road type of sensations (and very noticeable bumps), then the S8 will be a fun ride.

It's been a few years that I went to take a look @ an S8 with 19k miles on it, I liked the recaro seats, alcantera interior, but I didn't really like the ride nor impressed about the extra horse power. All used cars drive differently, so it could be the particular car I drove wasn't up to par.
