Default 2002 S8 front brake pads
Stealer advises I will soon need new front pads

I'm planning to sell this car in the next 6 months and want to know what the OEM pads are (mfg and model). I'm not looking for any upgrade pads--

Any advice is appreciated
(I've searched the forum/s and can't seem to find my answer--please help)

Default Also from Tire Rack: Akebono Pro-ACT. Great! So far (2 weeks)...
I just noticed that you have an "S"... Never mind.

But anyway for you A8 owners, the Pro-ACTs are great.

I like the Akebono Pro-ACTs, too. They're quiet and have not produced any dust.

My old "Green" pads were horrible... left gunk on the rotors.

Default someone else raving about them now on the A6/C5 forum. Love them on my Lexus, didn't know they made
them for our car. I'll use 'em next time for sure.

I have Hawks on my '01 S8 as well. They did squeal for the first 100-200 miles, but they are quiet as OEM now. Give it time.

Mr. jazbo123 - you mean EBC "Green" or other? My buddy swears by his EBCs on his 500E...

Default They came with the car, so I can't say for sure that they...
were EBCs. Maybe there are other green painted pads around... or even counterfeits.

Whatever they were... they were filthy on the rotors and left a residue that got baked into the metal during hard stops.

I sanded the rotors down when I changed the pads and they seem like new now, although there are some small damage spots that may cuase uneven wear sometime down the road.
