2003 A8 Brochure States 330 HP
I thought it was going to be 345 HP stock, not 330. The S4 is listed with 340 HP and you can get it with a six speed manual!
Okay, so once that car comes out with the V8 and I have my used 2004 A8, I will retrofit that car with the six speed manual!

If the D3 S8 receives the all new four cam 40V 5L V10....
from the new Lambourghini Gallardo producing about 500 hp and 400-425 lbs/ft of torque, than what engine will the C6 S6 receive? Perhaps a 4.5L version of Audi's heavily revised four cam 40V V8 producing about 400 hp and 350 lbs/ft of torque?

Strange. Official number here is 335HP/246KW

S4 engine is tuned
differently. I'm pretty sure even the internals are different (i.e. lighter pistons/con rods etc). I shares the same architecture (chain driven cams etc), but still different.
I don't ever recall seeing it listed at 345hp, only 335...could've been a mis-print? The 330hp rating in North American is probably due to the difference in DIN HP (Euro) & SAE HP (North America).

Re: Strange. Official number here is 335HP/246KW but in N/A 330?
All the European/ UK articles have 335HP/246KW but the US sites and Audi Magazine state 330HP @6500 RPM for a +25 increase over the current A8 model. Maybe the Euro spec car is 5HP more?

Actually, I think you are right
The C6 S6 will receive the all new four cam 40V 5L V10 from the Lambourghini Gallardo producing 400-450 hp and 375-400 lbs/ft of torque on the S6. The C6 S6 will not directly compete with the E60 M5 and W211 E55 AMG. That will be the C6 RS6's job. The D3 S8 will most likely receive a tuned version of the four cam 48V 6L W12 probably producing about 500 hp and 480 lbs/ft of torque.

As for the C6 RS6
1,000-1, the C6 RS6 will receive a revised twin turbo four cam 40V 4.2L V8 producing about 500 hp and 525 lbs/ft of torque. The C6 RS6 will need at least this much hp and torque to legitimately compete with or outdo the E60 M5 and W211 E55 AMG. Twin turbochargers and intercoolers and all of the associated hardware and plumbing required for them to operate and run more reliably take up quite a bit of space in the engine bay. Because of this, I believe that the C6 RS6 will receive a revised twin turbo V8 and not a twin turbo version of the all new V10. A twin turbo V10 just won't fit in the engine bay of the C6 RS6.
