Default After the transmissions are rebuilt/replaced, are they better than OE?

Curious: once the transmissions are rebuilt (or replaced with current rebuilt units), are they any better than the original ones Audi installed, or will they suffer the same problems and go bad just as readily? I don't expect transmissions to last forever, and the one on mine has 144k and is still going reasonably well, but I also read about rebuilds after 70k, or less, for some owners.

Related Q: does the TransGo valve mod extend the life of the transmission, or just make it more pleasant during its normal lifetime?

Pity that the transmission is the apparent Achilles heel of these fine motorcars...

The transgo valve prevents the valve sticking and the pressure spikes and freewheel-BANG that breaks internal parts. My S8 actually did the BANG twice until I got the TransGo valve in there.
This trans and the 5HP19 seem to have the same issue and they are probably used in 100 different VW, Audi, BMW Land Rover, Jag, Porsche...

Reverse failing is an assembly issue. The trans go valve addresses the other issue. If you had one rebuilt now I would imagine it would probably last 200k miles.
