2004 A8 North American sales launch
I have heard different things from different sources about the North American sales launch for the redesigned (D6?) 2004 A8. Some sources say it will be April of 2003. Other sources say July of 2003. I am hoping the sources that say April of 2003 are right. This way I would be able to see it in person at the NY Auto Show. I love the way the redesigned A8 looks in photos. As with other newer Audi models I will probably like the redesigned A8 much better in person. I also know that we will only get the A8L and not the "regular" A8. A couple of weeks ago, I think someone on this board indicated that despite a 5-5.5 inch longer wheelbase with 5-5.5 inches more rear seat legroom, the A8L's overall length will be about an inch longer than the "regular" A8. Would be great if true. I have been to the German Audi website and I hope the amaretto brown/black interior (my favorite) with beige birch wood trim (which actually looks nice with that interior, IMO) will be available in North America. I also hope the ebony pearl effect exterior (also my favorite) will continue to be available in North America when the redesigned A8 comes out (whenever that is).

Let's hope your dealer is right
Because R&T, Edmunds and MT are still standing by summer of 2003. That means July (which is nine friggin months away). If spring of 2003 (meaning April of 2003) is correct, than the introduction of the much anticipated D6 A8L is only six monts away (and just in time for the NY Auto Show). I live on Long Island.
