Took another look at that guy's 2000 A8 with the "groaning" noise at low loads, man is it loud! Thought it might be one of the stages of the intake manifold (and found that stage two was not seating correctly, but fixed that), but it wasn't.
Took the serpentine belt off, operated the motor....and it was gone. Next step is to replace the belt and see if it goes away, I believe they have replaced the tensioner already.
So I found that he was low on coolant a week ago and found that it was low again after filling it up.....when I took the belly pan off, I found the leak!
It's on the left side of the motor, just under the exhaust manifold....I take it that this is a coolant drain line from the block, can anybody verify that? I figure I just need to take it off and install a new o-ring. The pan is on the bottom of the picture and the motor mount on the right hand side.
And never mind the oil leak on the right....it's nothing! The belly pan was held on by three fasteners.....ordered the ECStuning replacement kit.
