I was repairing a 2000 A8 with minor front end damage and was told by a local dealer that 97-03 hoods were the same! Purchased one used (Silver)and believe it or not it actually bolts up, but of course the headlights and grill are different. We did not find this out until we had already cut it in, in black to match the 00 car. Serves me right for trusting the AUDI parts guy and not following up and double checking.
