99 A8 Tranny issues -need some advice

Trans went south at 120k miles. Codes were:1602, 0501, 1625, 1624, 0756, 1761, 0761, 0751 and 0730. Had trans rebuilt-new clutches and converter. One fault was trans control module elec fault and they did not have one to put in at rebuild. How hard are they to replace, does anyone know where to get one and cost? This is my daughter's car--I drive a 96A6Q and wife has 02 A4Q 3.0. Previous owner apparently never changed fluid on the A8. Thanks for any advice you A8 folks may have. I spend most of my time on the A6 forum keeping my trusty 96 going.

Has the repair been completed? If so, does it still throw codes and not work? Not many of these TCU's have failed, if they do, it because there is water in the electronics box under the hood.

Thanks so much for the response. Your A8 looks great on what looks like the track. Work has been done. Upshifts fine. When slowing down trans drops down to lower gears hard and trans rebuilder suspects TCU. Going to indie repair guy who works on our other Audis to have codes checked and see what comes up as I don't have a VAG COM (but probably should given as there are three Audis in the family and a neighbor with 2).
If it is bad TCU, how much do you want for it and where are you located? I have looked and can't pinpoint it under the hood. Where might this little beauty be hiding?
Thanks again for your help. This site is frequented by good, helpful folks.

passenger side engine compartment between the firewall and base of the windshield. Remove the beauty cover first then the milti-screw hard plastic cover below/to the side of it. The TCU should be the silver-looking box towards the center of the car. Look for standing water in the plastic box the ECU and TCU are in- very common problem, the drains get clogged.

If not, then I doubt the TCU is a problem. Normally a check engine light would be on and it would be in limp home mode.
Tozo could tell us more about it, but you change the clutch clearance to change the shift hardness, etc. Maybe it was put back together with clearances different than stock. This I don't know much about.
If you want the TCU, I'll sell it for $375 shipped. I'm in Chicago.
The TCU is the black box on the right, just follow skiracer's instructions....

Eurotrans (Herbert) did my transmission 2 years ago. I take it back every 25m miles for a check-up and fluid change. It's $100 very well spent. Call me @ 404 364 5076 if you want to discuss.

Thanks for the pic and response. Check engine light did come on and it is at indie shop to be checked out tomorrow. Will let you know what the codes say.
thanks again for the help. How did you wind up with a spare TCU? Seems like an odd part to have. My spares are never that interesting.
