99 audi a8 won't accelerate

the lower gears don't seem to be working and extra gas needed to accelerate from a stop.
when I put the car in reverse it jerks.

does anyone know what this could be wrong with it?

Do all the gear icons light up instead of just one highlighted choice?

Called limp home mode.

Check tranny fluid level first.

Does the reverse jerks if you restart the car and put it in R?
