Hoping for advice...
Just picked up my car from its 90,000 km long life service at Audi.
The engine fired up as usual but when I accelerated the power was gone and it run as if a few cyliders was having problems igniting. This has never happened before and I've run the car from new.
I went back and called out the mecanic who plugged in the diagnos box and found a code that translates something like "engine temp reading to high"
The engine eventuelly heated up and seemes to run as usual.
The mecanic says we should change the "Engine temp sensor" the logic being that it tells the engine control that the engine is hot when its not and don't need as much fuel, hence the lack of power and misfiring when cold.
I guess I am ok with the logic but considering the timing I get suspicious and am curious if any of you guys have any insight to offer on this particular issue?
Thx

If the engine temperature is not seen from the ECU has hot, it will run as described....but to be sure, you should ask your mechanic for the specific code and post here.<ul><li><a href="http://tech.bentleypublishers.com/thread.jspa?threadID=9734&tstart=0">Here's a very similar problem on a 3.7 A8</a></li></ul>

Thanks Paul, very similar and interesting.
Thinking back, he was fiddling at the sensor and after that (or by then it was just warm enough) it seemed to work.
He reset the fault memory but as I remeber it stated "-G62 to high"

I decided to open the connector to G62 and clean it up and give it a bit of electronic contact spray.
Perhaps I just got lucky but it now runs perfect.
