A8 2.8 Sport, UK, I give up, anyone want a scrapper?
I have reached the end of my tether with the A8. It needs two tyres, a new alternator, an MoT and has fault code 00125 (implausible signal).
I had the speed switch swapped, no difference. I swapped the ECU and discovered the original had burnt pins. This did not solve the problem, and the same pin on the replacement ECU has corroded away completely. This ECU pin damage is obviously a symptom rather than a cause.
I have juust fitted a brand new battery. I have spent hundreds trying to get the car sorted, all to no avail so far, and I am drawing a line now.
Does anyone want to buy a car real cheap as a project, or does anyone know which dismantlers will give a good deal to take the thing away?
It's been a fantastic car, and its heartbreaking that I can't get it sorted, but I just don't have the money to do anything else with it now.
