Default A8 to A8L brake upgrade questions..

Since i am looking for what is needed to get to upgrade.. im hoping its only a caliper carrier to allow for the slightly larger rotors to be added..

here is what i found

A8
Front (312x25)
w/ ATE Calipers

A8L
Front (323x30)
w/ Girling Calipers

??? Unknown
Front-w/Sensors (8 Pad)
w/ Lucas Calipers
321x30 Rotors

S8

Front - w/ Sensor
w/ Brembo Calipers
345x30 mm Rotors

Can anyone tell me what the 8 pad set is for the front with the 321X30?

So far mechanics have told me that it should only be a $100 a set bracket that will allow the A8 to gain the .5 inches in the front and the 1 inch in the rear for the A8L rotors. Same caliper and pads.

Default That might be a real nice upgrade for 97-99 users

However, new calipers at the Audi dealer is probably as expensive as my Porsche 996 calipers.

Default I think we can just get away with the caliper carrier..

Like the A8 brake upgrade using the A8 caliper carriers. No mroe than $200 for all 4.

Default So keep your exisiting caliper and use the new rotor and carrier?

Wouldn't be bad......but you would still have the single piston caliper.

However, you could find the 4 pad S4 calipers (I believe they are two piston) that come on the 00 and newer cars pretty cheap from somebody who upgraded.

True, but woultnt we see a decent increase overall since the rotor is bigger?
