When is a trailer not a trailer?
BMW Films is obsolete when you can exploit the big screen to sell your car. Despite its longstanding commitment to ending the 20-minute advertising block at the published showtime, the Regal Entertainment theater chain may soon have to consider rescheduling the trailers that follow the openly sponsored segment to avoid audience confusion about what‼sup>TMs a preview and what‼sup>TMs an ad. 20th Century Fox's Transporter 2 is the latest perp. Until the trailer is interrupted by Amber Valletta's, ahem, chassis•the movie reeks of Luc Besson's taste in everything•it is a fairly sexy spot for the Audi A8, starting with a glamorously lighted, stuttered 360 product shot, including a bonus closeup of the Audi badge, and shifting to (depending on how you count the cuts) more than two dozen action shots of Jason Statham driving his A8, with many shots featuring the prominent Audi rings, coming and going. Unlike the Bond tradition, there are no speculative flying wings or hidden guns. And unlike Audi's play in I, Robot, the A8's available now•starting (assuming The Transporter would insist on the 12-cylinder version) at a mere $118, 120.

Transporter 2
