Default Not so sure about that....I think they have to be 6,000 lbs. and a truck chassis to get the ..

write-off. Don't know if it is a truck platform, but I do know they don't weigh 6K lbs.

Default Re: I just got an A8, getting a Touareg in 10 days.

You only get to write off up to $24k over 5 years. It would be a great second car but I only have one. I just take straight mileage and it works out to be the same.

Default Is that what the IRS reg says? If so, wish I'd known that before leasing

my A6 4.2 last week. That Cayenne (or Touareg) might have been a nice change of pace...and fun. With the huge up front write off, it would be a better buy than the A6. Excuse me, I've got to go fire my accountant who "steered" me wrong on this point.

Default It's a nonsensical law, environmentally speaking.

This new loophole encourages business owners to buy huge, heavy, thirsty trucks. What the USA needs is a tax-incentive to buy frugal, lightweight vehicles.

Default Re: It's a nonsensical law, environmentally speaking, but was enacted for farmers to encourage new

equipment purchases. It was never intented for attorneys carrying court documents or plumbers carrying tools.
