I just had a horrible experience with a reman.tranny. Bought it from Phoenix, was told it would ship immeidately, it took 2 weeks and arrived DOA. Had to ship it back, they found a bad piston, took several more weeks, shippped it back and it was DOA again as it had a transmission pan that had a hole in it(for the 2nd time). Finally got it fixed and they will not respond to letters and calls to take care of the labor costs for the additional work to take out/put back in, as well as the oil that had to be used. Thought you would want to know. If they respond will post on thread.

A guy in the A6 forum had a 3 or 4 month go around with them, they initially sent an A8 tranny, but it had a different gear set.....then they just made mistake after mistake, I think it took them 3 or 4 times to get it right.

A8 tranny rebuilders that we can use. As these cars age, many more of them are going to require transmissions. Perhaps an Audipages page to list those rebuilders that have done good work for forum members?

$2300 for the tranny, $260 for shipping, another $150 for core shipping you need to pay for the swap ( at least $600 ) and the warranty is very slim. Not the best ebay feedback rating.
