If that is really the problem I am going to flip.
They had the car 2 weeks. Charged me $440.00 dollars, left pieces out of the motor and now
it drips gas when I start it.
I then paid $300.00 to have it towed many miles home
Any colors on wires?

At the risk of asking, facelift?
The car is all stock,,, imobilizer?
I am clueless as well. The car will start
and sputter , basically barely running at all.
If i put the pedal to the floor it will rev up.
then stall.

Now it drips gas, that's because they put pressure on the high pressure fuel line or it's not tight enough.
You need to pull the codes with vag-com and report them here.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articles/enginemechanical/fuelleakrepari.html">Read this</a></li></ul>

and based on the symptoms, it definitely sounds like a crankshaft position sensor. it the clip attaches to the firewall on the driver side behind the engine and the wire runs down the back of the engine to the sensor on the camshaft. if the clip has broken loose from the mount it can dangle freely, causing the wire to touch the hot exhaust and subsequently shorting out the sensor. There are 3 wires on the cable, each should be seperately shielded (taped) and, if not broken, all taped together and then wiretied back away from the motor and exhaust. the sensor is about $120 from the stealer. Personally i would get them to check that out, FREE, and have them put BACK the "extra pieces" free as well. Then kick them in the nuts and find an indie mechanic to do your work from now on. good luck. Oh, and POST THE CODES from your check engine like reading.

The fuel lines on the pre facelift cars start in the front and run to the gas tank. the facelift cars have connections where the flexible lines are. A set of fuel lines is about $900 from the stealer for pre facelift cars.
