Have used Mobil 1 (there are plenty good oils out there besides Mobil 1) for 12 years now in all my vehicles.
I go 7,500 to 10,000 miles between oil changes.
All Audi's come with synthetic oil from the factory these days.
If you do a search on this forum for synthetic in the past year, you will find plenty of info, Randy Young has provided a lot of this input.

0w-40 would be better where you have very HOT summers or if you regularly track your Audi; otherwise, 0w-30 is fine if not better.
On the track, the temperature guage of my S8 runs just a hair below the red zone. The cooling system just wasn't sized for operation at full throttle 95% of the time for 30-60 minutes sessions; and I feel the 0w-40 offers a bit more protection here.
With our race car under the same conditions and Mobil 1 10w-30, we experienced cam lobe wear that disappeared when we switched to a Mobil 1 0w-40. Please don't take this as criticism of the 10w-30. A full season on a race motor is very severe service. On the track, if you're not braking, the motor's at full throttle essentially 100% of the time, and pushing rpm's well past the motor's original design. We prefer to run the lightest weight oil possible to minimize hp losses. On the street, the lighter weight oil improves fuel economy.
Like Paul, I'm a Mobile 1 fan and have been using it in all my street cars for more than 25 years. None of them have ever required any maintenance to the motors.

I doubt you'd ever want to.
You quickly take the improved cold starting (<0 oC) and better fuel economy as normal and won't want to lose these benefits.
