It took the better part of a day with two guys to do the H&Rs on my car.

Default Ever made love in the back seat of a '69 Camaro filled with mosquitos on a hot, humid night?

It's like that: very cramped, more than a little annoying, great likelihood that you're going to come away with some flesh wounds and a stiff neck, significant probability that you'll utter some oaths in the direction of the designers of the machine -- but ultimately a satisfying thing to have done. You know, the home stretch starts you grinning, and you have a happy memory after the wounds heal. You even kind of enjoy the stiff neck, considering what it got you.

I have a friend who races a 944 Turbo. He replaced the motor mounts last weekend, no small job on that car. He was torquing the last bolt to specs when it sheared -- made of melted Bud cans, he reckoned. Whole engine has to come back out to get out the remainder of the bolt. He was remarkably cheerful about it. Some people enjoy a good flogging, evidently.

Your experience will mostly be determined by how frozen the connections are on the upper ends of the rear gear. That's where the cursing got done on my car.

Default Great Scott, man, try to raise the quality of the conversation when I say something like that.

I think one person who offers up altogether too vivid imagery and frank speech is enough for one forum, and to my chagrin I seem to have planted my flag in that territory. Besides, the loss of your virginity is a personal tale, and we are all now trying to banish from our minds images of what the great comedian Bill Hicks used to call "hairy boppin' man ***." Please quote scripture in the future in response to my '69 Camaro posts.

Nice flexible wrenches, a very large hammer, good lighting, that's what you'll want on those upper shocks. I use a little LED camping headlight to illuminate the darker nooks and crannies of places like that. The Sawzall should be considered only as a last resort.

Bill Hicks
