ABS Fault Code

ABS Fault Code
While messing around under the hood I removed the harness plug from the ABS pump. After plugging it back it the ABS light was on.
I figured I could clear it with VAG COM.
No dice, The code came up but when I tried to clear it it told me the module stopped responding.
By the way the code was:
65535
Internal Control Module Memory Error
I remember the Skip Barber instructors talking about having problems getting the ABS to work again after disconnecting the system on the BMW's.
This might be a dealer fix. Anybody have any ideas?

Re: ABS Fault Code
I'm just guessing here, but if the ABS control module is energized outside the pump harness, you might try a "reboot" by pulling the fuse or the battery power. You might also try some sensor inputs by running the car on stands and using the brakes. Good luck.
It's a bad sounding code. I had to replace an airbag controller with an unclearable "hard code".
