Default Adjusting High beam

Hi

Is the high beam on a 98 S8 able to be manually adjusted?? There is a plastic 'screw' near each of the headlight assemblies and I was wondering if this is what they do?

My high beam has major overlap with the main beam and is next to useless.

Thanks

Default If the '98 S8 uses the same headlight assembly as the A8.....

then any external adjustmants to the headlight will change both the low and high beams. You would need to dig into the headlight assembly and adjust the low beams, then use the outside adjustments to adjust the whole assembly.

Thanks for the reply. Is digging into the asssembly realistic or is this something best left to those who know??

I am an enthusiastic amateur........

Cheers

Default It really isn't very difficult, I can get mine taken apart in 15 minutes.....

but I've done it few times ;-) You may be able to do it without removing the headlight assembly- remove the rear cover and see if you can get to the 3 screws that hold the low beam projector into the headlight assy. If you can, you just need to tighten the two upper screws to lower the low beam angle, or tighten the lower screw to raise the low beam angle ( the projector is mounted to the frame with rubber washers so you can adjust the angles). From what you have said, I would tighten the two upper screws (the same amount!) and then use the external headlight adjusters to raise the entire beam pattern to the level you want. Check my picture poster- there are a few photos of the headlight assembly disassembled.

Thanks Skiracer. I meant to post prior to this however haven't had the time to try the adjustments. Will do so in the near future and post the results.

Cheers
