I'm trying to understand Bentley's description of where the "Remove sealing plug - arrow - from cylinder block on left side. " is this just forward of the engine mount non the left side? anyone have a pic?
This is where that crank lock fits in.
Thanks in advance for your help!

More like, just behind the engine mount.Didn't take photos when I was doing mine, sorry. It's tough to spot and reach. I had to use a long extension with swivel to take the plug out and could just reach hole with my hand (by blind feel)with lock tool to screw it in... then used same extension to tighten it a bit.
The plug is a flat top allen head (8mm as I recall...maybe 6mm?) right where Bentley shows it on the drivers side...although their drawing doesn't look like what you see from the limited view from under the car. I found it with a flash light.

Looking at that diagram, it looks like thats just underneath the exhaust manifold at the very back of the block. Thanks, I'll crawl under there and figure it out tomorrow.

It's easiest to see with the wheel off. Make sure you have your headlight sensor detached as well. It kind of sits in a little hollowed out area in the block and I used a pretty long extension to get to it. I'm sorry I don't have any pics.

Thanks. I've been trying to figure out how to get in there without crawling under. I had a *bad* experience under a car once (caused by teenage stupidity), and I'm still a bit anxious under there, even with jackstands etc.

Wow. taking the wheel off lets you actually see what you are doing. That was close, There is a similar plug located in roughly the same place, about 2 inches aft of the seal plug. You can see that one from the front, but not the real one. I'll try to get a pic up tomorrow.

Remove Left front wheel, this is the view from where the headlight mechanism usually is (unbolted for the pic) the access port for the crank locking tool is shown in the Green. It is hidden from the front view by the motor mount.
the 6mm plug in red, I don't know what it is for. I do know its visible from the front, so I spent some time trying to get at it. Luckily I never did get to it.
