My brake rotors were bolted to aluminum hats with 48 steel bolts. I replaced them all with titanium fastners. Titanium is about 55% the weight of steel and, with the proper alloy, about as strong as a Grade 8 fasteners. [Aluminum is even lighter than titanium, but only ~1/5th as strong.]

Are you running an Alcon setup now? I'm too lazy to check archives today.
I came to a similar conclusion that most reasonable price D2 S8 enhancements tie to weight reduction: unsprung = wheels, tires, brake componets; and sprung weight = auto/electro/luxo gizmos, spare wheel/tire, and driver weight : )
Trouble is, I don't know what luxury items I'd be willing to delete from the car, so I'll focus on unsprung & driver weight reductions.

A 30 lb savings in unsprung rotating weight is huge. You'd need to go to ceramic rotors to do any better (and ceramic rotors are much better).
The stock cast iron rotors, especially the front's, are very heavy. And yes, I'm using a one-of-a-kind Alcon front setup and a Stasis Rear S4 Kit.

Making a Custom Aluminum Hat for the S8's 345x30mm disc isn't difficult, the trick is finding the disc itself. The closest I've found is a 343x28 Alcon or a 350x28 Brembo, both from Hoerr Racing. A one-time expenditure for a custom hat isn't too big a deal, but you certainly don't want to be buying custom discs every time a set wears out. [BTW: I've never measured an S8 rotor. Is it really 345x32 as the Audiworld Resource guide says?]
You might also call Stasis and see if they'd be interested ... there's obviously a market. You might also remind them that their S4 rear kit works great on an S8. Stasis doesn't list it as an application on their web site.
