Default It always helps to have a good relationship with your local Audi parts department

Stopped by this afternoon to pick up 8 litres of ATF for my fluid/filter change.

The receipt states: $14.74 List, $11.79 Net

Total with tax for 8 litres: $100.69!

So when I had my tranny fluid/filter changed at the same dealer two years ago, it was something like $19.20 per litre, then I had it done again 3 months later and it was $24.00 per litre....

What gives? Because of audipages they have been selling more fluid therefore they can offer it cheaper???

Who cares? I thought it was going to cost me about $160.00!

Default You're very lucky...

I only have one Audi dealer in town. A few VW dealers, but only one Audi dealer, so he can charge whatever he wants. It cost me $180 for my 8L.

Dealer parts prices are very flexible and they have numerous schedules of discounts. When buying a new car, I always get in writing from the GM or other management-level person a statement that I can buy parts for the car at the "employee discount" price. This endorsement can be placed right on the bill of sale. All dealers have this price schedule (just hit the code key) and it is normally a big discount. I've never had a "no" said to this suggestion after I make clear it is a deal breaker. They figure you will never use it, anyway. Very helpful on my wife's MB.

Default Paul, when I picked up the A8 last year, I went to the parts dept.,

said hello and announced that I would not pay list price for ANYTHING that they sold. No problem! Ive been getting between 20-30% off.
