from some reason, it sounds like the passenger side arm rest in the center console has come a little loose, and is not making a light rattle with low constant vibrations from the car, and it's annoying the hell out of me now.....I looked at the center pillar, and it looks like there is just an aluminum cap over where the connections are, and was hoping it could just be popped off, and tightened, without much problem, but didn't want to do it until I had a better idea of what I was in for.......anyone else ever poked around to tighten things down and run into any troubles??

for now, I just keep the armrest tilted to the back. Car won't be serviced for another 6000 miles.

Love the car, but too many sources of noise...

If it's really bugging you, you should bring the car in. You are entitled to all repairs free with the Audi Advantage program anyway (plus dealer do provide a courtesy car) unless of course you live far away from the dealer...

Only if it's still under warranty........I'm driving a '97 with 61K miles on it........

it seems that all S8 rattle; I have the same problem and got tired of bringing my car to get fixed; I cant understand how Audi is claiming that the aluminium body is more rigid than a steel frame; I hope they fixed the problem on the next generation and advertise it, as I will most likely will not buy it if it still rattle; The greatest driving automobile with ridiculous small annoyances.
