Be very careful when installing it. They are very tempramental to any type seal leak in the pump reservoir. It is easy to check though. After you have installed the pump; you need to put at least a 1/2 gallon of gas in if the tank is below 1/2 when you remove to fill the pump reservoir. Drive the car around for about 10 to 20 miles. (Carry an extra gallon of gas) If it dies; you either have not put the seals back correctly or one is mislodged. If there is no problem; you have everything back correctly. Please note that this only works if the tank is less than half empty. Otherwise; the gas is flowing over the top of the reservoir. Peter

I went to the "Python" website and it looks like the sell rebuilt units. Don't know how good though.

I just installed an aftermarket pump in my A8, no luck on the car running. Do you need to prime these pumps after the install ????

Hi everyone, just thought this might be helpful for people with similar problem. We sell these pumps on our website, actually we have sold to quite few customers in US. Shipping takes 2-4 business days from UK.

Same issue here in UK as well regarding only the whole assembly being available from the main dealer
