Any member ever use a 20" or 19" ET35 Rim on A8L

Hello Everyone,
I am new to the board and was wondering if any of you have tried a 20" rim with an ET35 offset on a 2001 A8L. I am concerned if the offset will put the rim too far towards the outside of the vehicle.
The same goes with a 19" Rim with a ET35?
If anyone has tried these and has a picture I would appreciate it if you could post it.
Also, On the 20", what size tire did you use?
Thanks in advance.
John

As long as you keep the outside diameter (OD) of the tire the same as original, having a larger diameter wheel is no different than having a 17" or 18" wheel.
I have ET 35 wheels, no problem at all, they actually look awesome sticking out that extra 1/2" from the stock of ET 48.
What width were you going with? If 8" then nothing to consider, if 8.5" or greater, than you will have to figure that in too. Really no reason to go more than 8.5".
Tire sizes are explained by Randy Young below. Welcome!<ul><li><a href="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/tiresizeoptions.html">All tires sizes here</a></li></ul>

My wheels are ET39. With 255/35-20 tires, the fender clearence is still OK (see pic), but getting a bit snug. I was wondering if the 4mm move outward with an ET35 wheel would be a problem with a 255/45-18, 255/40-19, or 255/35-20 tire.

Before Fitting my 20" nine spoke rims I had some spacers and wheel studs made to check tyre/body interference with a view to spacing out (reducing ET). My ET is 45, I only tried up 6 mm which took me to effectively ET39, however I ended up fiiting none because I could not eradicate minor vibration. This measure may help you determine fit/clearance; are you thinking of changing your wheels?

caviets: 8" vs 8.5" rim, slightly smaller than stock rolling diameter (~3%), SZ50 tires tend a little smaller than typical tread with for 255s

.
as a follow up to John's question, whether a 255 tire works on an 8.5" ET35 wheel or if this is outside the envelop.
I have no plans to change my wheels, unless I could get my hands on some ultralight magnesium or carbon wheels.

In the search for the perfect wheel setup for my 2000 A8L, I purchased a set of OZ Classe in 18x9 et35 and had them mounted with 255/45 18 Michelin Pilot sport A/S. I went to the slightly larger size rather than the stock 245/45 as the Pilot Sport A/S is not available in the stock size. I had no problems with setup.
According to my calculations, the 9" wheel at et35 sticks out 6mm more than the 8.5" wheel at et35. Therefore the 8.5 at et35 should be no problem at all.
