Anybody with a facelift car ever put XM in the car by changing out the Radio with a newer Symphony?

The 04 and later Symphony II radios came equipped with an input for XM/Sirius radio. Has anybody bought a radio like this from an A4 or A6 and changed out the faceplate with their existing A8 Symphony radio and installed the tuner?
My head is turning with mods....XM via factory tuner, RNS-E or RNS-D, bi-xenons from Europe.....
Guess I would need a facelift car first......

What do you have to do.
Which model did you use? Was it the A6 one with a modified face plate? did the A6 fit right in.
or did you get the A4 one with the silver strip on the bottom and break it off?
give me some details

one in an A4 and one in a A3. They are sweet! The SD slots in the back of the screen are very cool!!! I was just saying above that it doesn't get any better than a '03 S8 with RNS-E and upgraded lights! If anyone can pull it off, PW can!
In my ride, I have an old Blaupunkt chicago flip-out mounted where the heater controls go. A DX-N navi (pretty much a RNS-D type)unit mounted where the radio use to go. I wanted the radio to not cover the center vents when it flips open. I put heater unit where the center switches are, keeping the heated seat switches where they are. I put the rest of the switches (fogs/rear shade/hazzards) below the heater hole, where the flat wood is.
...... boy do I need to just take a picture!!!
It looks pretty good using the OEM wood center.
