Default Anyone else looking to get the A8L 6.0?

I'm seriously considering this automobile. Thinking about placing an order for it. For those that have done that pre-order process, any words of advice?

Planning to see the car in person at the NY auto show in April, hopefully even more info will be available by then.

Default So far I am in love with everything about it....

I've decided from the photos the new grill is very powerful. I'm into it.

This car is looking to have everything, power, elegance, handling.

YUM.

Default Re: Anyone else looking to get the A8L 6.0? I will If Audi takes care of me! I drove the W12 VW.

I wanted to buy one in 2001 when I bought my new A8L and I am waiting for this car as well but not until stupid AOA takes care of the unmatched paint job on my A8L as you all know about at this point.... Also, I had the chance to drive the new VW Phaeton W12 for the afternoon and it is some car! It drives almost the same as an A8L.. On the highway it really pulls hard.. It is going to be a hard seller until people get used to an $80,000 VW.. The engine feels very much like my BMW 750IL that I drove before the A8L.... I still have that BMW..It's just been sitting in the garage since 01 when I bought the Audi.. I wonder how this new W12 will compair to the new BMW V12 or the Mercedes Benz V12..This would be a great road test..I assume the Audi and VW have the same W12 right? I was not sure if they are totally the same..

I'm considering replacing my 2001 A8L with the W12 in the next year, but it will be a stretch yet for me to accept the new grill look.

Default The Audi W12 is actually a newer engine than the W12 in the Phaeton

...albeit they are very similar. The Audi one is revised and boasts about 40hp more than the Phaeton engine.

Combined with a lower weight (by about 700lbs), the A8 W12 will perform much better than the W12 Phaeton.

Should be a monster.

I think the new look is bold, fresh and aggressive.

Default You won't be in love with the price!

I didn't really like it until I saw it at the Detroit Auto Show. It is STUNNING in person. The car on display was fitted with 20" 9-spoke Avus wheels and they look amazing on it.

Default So was the look on the 745 and new 5 series....

Bold and fresh isn't always good
