Default anyone had a power steering problem yet?

today, driving to work, my steering felt pretty stiff and it felt like my tire pressure was very low (really mushy feel). I pulled to the Shell and checked the pressure - 32psi front and back - all good. did a search here, but did not find much... also did a VAG-COM check and only get one DTC code:

16705 Engine Speed Sensor (G28): Implausible Signal
35-10 ---- Intermitent

I do not think that the DTC is related to my problem...

whatever the problem is it makes the A8 feel like a boat...

any ideas?

Default This is a long shot, but make a note that there is an outside chance that

an intermittent speed signal could affect the feel of the power steering since it's valving changes according to speed.

Default Is it still bad? Could also be the steering damper

I have not looked at the Bently regarding the stering damper, but if it went bad, it would defintely change the steering feel.

Default The servotronic circuit could be stuck full open, over-assisting the steering at higher speeds?

Just one guess of many.

Default sure did, even checked for any sign of leaks... could this be the belt?

but since there is only one belt this would effect other systems, right?
