I remember someone doing it for E-code head unit but not in the face-lift US DOT units.

I have an 03 S8 and noticed that there is a hole for "city lights" and wanted to hook them up.

Any thoughts...? What part number/lights are suggested? Will the US light connectors include this bulb.

Sounds like a piece O cake as allz you need is the bulb n holder. Look around as wiring "may" already be there. that would be cool. Otherwise wire them into the parking lights and ground and you're good to go. PW would want to install a relay so they're not on when the head lights are on.
google danielsternlighting and I'll bet he can get what is needed. Hundreds of years ago he helped me get into e code cibies WITH city lites for my 911. They come on with parking lights and stay on...they are standard on European E-Code units.

OK now I know what you mean. They are what I know as 'standing lights'. I had Euro spec lights on my V8 that had them and I have Bi-Xenons in my 00 A8 that has them. Iuse them a lot of the time at dusk instead of running the Xenon bulbs. In the Bi-Xenon headlights the 4 W bulb is actually a little tiny Halogen bulb...had to get replacement from Germany unfortunately.
