Anyone know the specs of the S8 rear rotors and calipers? Thanks

.
Calipers are identical to the single 43 mm piston floating caliper type as used on the S4. Lucas-Girling?
Rotors on the '01 S8 are 280x22 mm vented. The '00 or earlier European S8's may have a smaller rotor; there are definitely at least two different S8 rear rotor part numbers. Mine is 8E0-615-301-B. I believe the S4 rotor is 256x20 mm vented.
Besides the OEM Lucas pad, the caliper accepts the Pagid 1158. In order of increasing performance: compounds available for the 1158 are RS 4-2-1 black, RS 4-2 blue, and RS 4-4 orange. Unfortunately, the RS 14 black for the 1158 has apparently been discontinued.

There's no guarantee that the hat dimensions of the two rotors are the same, and the centerlines of the rotors could be located differently laterally.
This is the S8 rear pad, and the link shows this Porterfield pad for the A6 and TT (the S8 isn't listed).
<img src="http://www.porterfield-brakes.com/catimage/AP340T.jpg">
but it shows the following pad for the A4, S4, S6, and A8.
<img src="http://www.porterfield-brakes.com/catimage/AP228.jpg">
The grouping of cars for each pad doesn't seem to follow any logic. At least it looks like the only difference is the location and type of spring that positions the pad in the caliper, but a straight swap may have to consider this when designing the carrier bracket.
BTW, the Pagid pads that I use in the rear on the track don't come with that butterfly type spring, or any spring at all. My local Audi dealer gave me a couple of sets of worn out pads (from a TT?). I popped the springs out of these and used them on the Pagid pads.<ul><li><a href="http://www.porterfield-brakes.com/pads.htm">Porterfield pads</a></li></ul>

vs. Porterfield R4S .47. Not bad for the street. I figure by changing carrier brackets on front and rear with rotors, I can gain 19mm Front/14mm Rear gain in rotor diameter and keep the biasing pretty close to my current 321/256 set up.
