Default Anyone know where to get a fuel pump? Stealer wants $550 for a kit.

I did check Dads, and they said $325 for a used pump and cage and a 6 month warantee. Any input would be apreciated.

TIA!

(PS: what about an aftermarket pump like a holly or edelbrock from summit?)

No way an aftermarket will work- these are highly specialized pumps.

Default http://www.specializedgerman.com/

check their website and give them a call. I bought one from them about three months ago for $175.

So what is the problem with your pump?

Not sure exactly, mechanic just said it was shot. (independant mechanic, not dealer)

Default I would imagine a 4.2L v8 requires a stronger pump than a 1.8LT or 2.8L v6 ...

what did he do about the diferent flow rates or pressures?

Default The A8 fuel pump not only supplies pressure and flow to the engine, it also.....

pumps fuel from the far reaches of the tank into the section where the pump is located. Search the forum for fuel pump and you will find a photo of one- not a standard unit. There may be other Audi models that use the same pump, but a generic aftermarket pump will not work.
