Anyone seen my TPS reports? Does this happen to be the TPS in the A8? I don't recognize it...

What is this adjustment with the yellow paint mark in the center of the picture?
I'd like to try to adjust the Throttle position sensor a little... if it would just stay in gear a little longer on light throttle, I'd be happy.
This doesn't look like the TPS on the 2.2 turbo. What is this adjustment for?

http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/100685/dsc04684.jpg</a

It is a bumper on the bottom of the throttle.
Turn your throttle by hand and see it will slow down on the bottom end. If you ever do a manual conversion, you will have to play with that screw to have perfect rpm drop between shifts :-)

Explain pls - this just adjusts the bumper?...or is the bumper also...
where the TPS is found?
It's not so obvious as it is on the 2.2t. Is it there and I'm just not looking in the right place?
BTW, how did you pull off the Manual conversion? Did you find original Audi parts for a Manual A8 or S8 and just start removing/replacing? Doesn't the ECU miss its Automatic? ;-)
Oh...and while we are here...since you seem to know something about transmissions... What do you think about changing out the Lock-up TC (should be called the un-lockup) for one that stays locked? I had a TBird Supercoupe once (that's a Ford product BTW...and don't laugh, it was a great car) and it was the only automatic I have driven that had 4 distinct gears. Once in motion, it was like driving a manual that shifted thru the gears by itself. When off the throttle, the tach followed the speedometer just like a manual transmission does. The TC did not go in and out of lock. Do you know if there is such an option for the A8? Can I just buy a different style TC? Or is the TC lockup/unlock function controlled within the transmission?
I'll never understand the idea of the Lockup torque converter. An automatic is so much nicer to drive when it shifts cleanly into and out of each gear. I drove across country one time in a friend's Chevrolet, and every time we were on a slight grade and I had to give it a little gas, the TC would unlock and the car would actually slow down. I just find these type TCs so annoying. And I noticed that after I coded the A8 into sport mode (so that the tiptronic stays in 1st when I want it to), the TC seems to lock up less. It's like the tach will stay at 2800 or so while the car accelerates and catches up to the engine.
