has timing chain not belt!
I am looking at a used 2000 A8, with newer 310hp , 5V engine. There is no record of timing belt change in the service histiry. I asked the dealer and they told me they have timing chain, not belt! is this correct? As far as I know only D3 A8s use timing chain.
Thanks

Yes, most of these guys spend more time smoking and chasing around the receptionist than reading car magazines. I am just kidding.
It's not a trait of a sales person, it's that some people are unable to admit they are wrong. Most of us are pretty honest people that say "let me talk to my techie and I will get back with you" if we do not know.

he convinced me that timing belt used untill 99 model year and 310hp engine uses a timing chain instead! He was prety confident! That is strange for a trained A8 Sales person.
