I decided to try a test poll with the format I wanted to use on the A8/S8 forum before initiating the polls I would like to take for combined forums. This Poll is requesting the maximum amount of days your A8/S8 has been out of service. By out of service it is intended to define `not being able to drive it'. This sample poll is for a negative reason, but I would like to ask some other positive/negative questions and get some feed back.

I would greatly appreciate the following format for your answer on the SUBJECT LINE. This will permit the ease of extracting answers and compiling poll results:

1. Question:

What Year Auto?
What Make? A8/S8
Maximum Days it was out of service?
Short Description of Failure
Was it under Warrantee at the time? (yes or no)
Were you satisfied with the Service and/or was it done in a reasonable amount of time? (yes or no)
Place of service (Dealer or Dealer Name or Private or Private Name)

Format: Subject:

Year, Make, # Days in out of Service, Reason, Warrantee, Satisfied, Place of Service

Example: Subject:

1998, A8, 44, Transmission, Yes when it occurred-told dealer 2 days after, No, Dealer/Private

Message: Other Comments.

If you respond, please use the commas and respond in the subject. This will permit ease of extracting data. May I suggest copying the above Format and Example into your message response area for ease of use to post in the subject line.

Please feel free to comment in the message area. If you don't know big deal, but this format is easier. Sorry in advance for the format request, but it makes if MUCH EASIER to compile the information. I intend to extract the feedback and cross reference it. I will also cross reference your id and eliminate duplicate answers on the same board. Of course, anyone else is welcome to extract the data and compile it also. Thank you very much and please take a minute of your time to respond to this poll. This poll is on my own and I do not have any formal `poll' relationship with Audi when I am taking this poll.

Here is a sample using some test data I put together. I created a table descending by days and a chart. Once we have the data we can format it any way we want.

I'm reasonably certain that I waited at the dealer for all other service, whether warranty or routine service interval work, and never spent more than 5 hours at the dealer. [Since I'm a 6 hour round trip drive from my current dealer, it doesn't make sense to leave the car for these short outages.]

Another bit of data that may have helped this post would have been to know HOW LONG the current owner has had the car.
