Hi guys,
I jacked up the front of the car and noticed that if I turned one wheel, the other turns. Should this happen? I mean should the wheels be able to turn at all being connected to the rears still on the floor?
I am hoping that it is a differential thing not a broken thing!

I thought I screwed up.
I was popping off a CV while still attached to the car and the other side wheel slipped on the brick it was sitting on.
These cars are stiff. You really need to make sure you have most of the weight on the opposite tire.
Funny thing is I REALLY thought that I heard a crack. And not the pop that the CV makes when it releases (that happened later). How does one go about checking if his AWD is now a RWD?

The center Torsen differential is an extremely compact mass of ring and worm gears. Even if your Audi could still move, the Torsen could not fail
without you knowing it from the sound of breaking metal. If you jacked up one side of your car with the tranny in neutral, you could spin a front
wheel and watch the rear.
The Torsen is that small group of gears at the tail of the transmission.
