Default Bad Bose Amp

My Bose amp is shot. I thought I might get some opinions about replacing it. I thought that if I needed a new amp anyway, is it time to upgrade the cassette Delta radio to mp3? Maybe go for aftermarket on both and lose the CD stacker.

I do like the steering wheel controls though. Any chance of saving this?

For now, is there anyway to bypass the amp (it was an option, yes?) and just feed the speakers from the deck?

Ty

Be careful w/ aftermarket - the Bose system is tuned and you may have to replace spkrs too.

Default I want something like this......

<img src="http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/products/2005/099/h099AVN5500-f_ft.jpeg">

Fits like stock. You also have the option to change the menu to match the existing red interior lighting.

I love the USB and mem slot, but it does look cheap.

Default I wonder if anyone has any extra face plates that fit the nav unit on the pre-facelift cars ...

That would allow someone to install a double din sized head unit so as not to muck about with the flop down faces on the single din ones these days.

And since it is bose, once one part of the system is bypassed or changed it is not likely to sound very good. They are kinda tricky like that. Sorta an all or nothing senario.

Default I don't want to get kicked to the audio forum but

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/125817/p09_fig1b.jpg"></center><p>add a tunable crossover where the amp should go use existing wiring and speakers.
