If you want an easy install and factory look go with the rns-e

Don't forget that with the RNS-E, the DIS directions won't work anymore.

But is it an easy install, that depends on if you have done it before

What RNS-E did you get? (from what Audi model). The color matches nicely. Any trimming needed ?

Default A4 and A6 units fit, both require trimming.

The face plate will match if you have an 02 or 03 b/c audi switched to a matte black after 01. A4 units are cheaper and require more trimming.

Is trimming still required on a 2003 S8?

Default Yes, but on an 03 the face plate will match correctly

And you will need to install the gps antennae behind the cluster and tap the GALA behind the cluster. I'm installing mine again for the second time, will make a write up.

I use the same GPS antenna as was used for my NAVI+.
I got an RS6 unit and only trimmed the sides.
The A4 unit doesn´t fit as good as an A6 unit, even when trimmed.
The CAN H & L are already "used" with the NAVI+, so you don´t really need to go behind the cluster. I took out the cluster and hooked up my CAN cables and disconnected the DX box (hmm, is it called DX? that traffic box thingy ).
